My song I chose by Alicia Keys is called Caged Bird. I believe that this is a great song because of the way it sounds. It can relate to some peoole, and it has a lot of imagery. It also may can soothe people minds when they had a really bad day. Besides that there is a lot more things that shows this is a really great song.
In the song Alicia Keys is comparing people to birds. In the song she says, "Right now I feel like a bird." In taht case this sentence would be reffered to as an simile. Futher more the sing has a lot of imagery in it. The song really paints a picture in my mind, because of the words she chose to create the song. For instance when she said, "Everyone comes to stare at me." That gives me a sense that she is talking about people staring at her,and that is why it gives me a image of what she is talking about.
Caged bird has a lot of repetition in the song. Alcia Keys repeats the word "fly" in the song. She says just let her fly, fly, fly. This is repeated at the very end of the song because the bird is set free and she just wants it to fly. I think that was a good idea for her to do because she finally expresses her feelings about how the bird feels.
Alicia Keys uses many metaphors in the song. She says metaphors like,"They don't know what there doing to me." Also she says,"Her only joy comes from song." I thought her metaphors were very strong and she really broke the song down in a way you can understand it, but relate to it in your own perspective.
In conclusion this song can connect to people because she isw comparing people to birds and how they should be free. Also I like the way the poem sounded as far as the way it sounded because she just didn't write like she was talking to a person,it was sort of like personification in a way. That is why caged bird is a really great song to listen to.

Final Draft
In the story Animal Farm the many of the charcters are very gulliable. The character are like that, but most of them are.In the story Animal farm Squealer uses several rhetorical stratagies to convince the animals to submit to Napolean's rule. A lot of Napolean's rules ar not fair to most of the animals.
One of the chracters Squealer is very persuasive. Squealer is good at persuading people because he doesn't really give the animals an option. Squealer tells animals that they had to decide to go to with the humans or follow the other pigs. Squealer tell the animals,"He (Napolean) would be only too happy to let you make your own decisons for yourselves. "But sometimes you might make the wrong decisons comrades, and then we're should we be?" Also when Squealer blamed Snowball for breaking the window. In reality this relates to when President George Bushgives the Americans two options. The options were that they either agree with,Good vs.Evil or Action vs. Inaction.
Something in Animal Farm that Squealer always does is think that there is no doubt that the pigs are wrong ever. The pigs believe that they are never wrong because they are more literate than the other animals. In the story it says that most of the animals couldn't get pass the letter "A." In reality one time President Bush thought he knew every thing about Iraq, but that was untrue. In conclusion you know what Squealer did to make the animals believe his lies. Also how these parts of the alegory relates to the story.

What I thought about the election
I thought that the election was a great experience. It showed me that if you really want something you have to work extremely hard for it. When Barack Obama won the election it made me feel proud. It made me proud because I feel I was apart of history. Barack Obama being the first African American made me happy because now that means that anyone can be president no what race you are. I believe that a change will come as Barack Obama as president.

The Greatest Game Ever Played: Essay
In the story I think the character Zaroff values liberty the most. There are many reasons that I think that Zaroff values liberty the most because he loves to hunt more than anything. I know that Zaroff loves to hunt more than anything because as a child he used to hunt with his father. In the story Zaroff says,"When I was five years old he gave me a little gun." The second example that shows me Zaroff enjoys hunting is when he tells us as a reader that he enjoys hunting for humans also. Zaroff says, My whole life has been prolonged hunt." That tells us how much he loves to hunt a lot. Lastly you know that Zaroff is for liberty because he believes he much stronger than everyone else, and that he should control the whole universe. I know that Zaroff believes this because when he is hunting for Rainsford he gives him very little to protect himself. While Zaroff uses his pack of dogs to hunt for Rainsford. In conclusion these are many ways that Zaroff is for liberty.
